Refrigerant line set product attributes

A refrigerant line set is two copper tubes, insulation and sometimes accessories, yet its record has to answer several fit questions at once. Liquid and suction line outside diameters must match the equipment connections, the length must cover the run, and the ends must be flared or plain to suit the installation. Supplier descriptions often compress this into a code where sizes appear as bare fractions without saying which line is which.

Several attributes share a name but mean different things. Wall thickness can describe the copper or the insulation. A 3/8 in ACR tube is not the same size as 3/8 in plumbing copper, because ACR tube is designated by outside diameter and plumbing tube by nominal size. Pressure ratings depend on both tube size and wall, so one figure rarely covers both lines in a kit.

Mini-split kits add contents to track: communication cable, drain hose and flare nuts may or may not be included, and buyers assume they are. Exterior runs raise questions about UV-resistant jackets, and insulation surface burning ratings may be needed for plenum spaces or inspection. Each of these belongs in its own field rather than in a kit description.

Normalize supplier values

The same value arrives in many spellings. Map each raw string to one governed value, and keep the raw text beside it so a reviewer can see what the supplier actually wrote.

Often missing from supplier files

These fields are commonly absent from price lists and basic feeds, even though the information usually exists in a datasheet, label or installation manual. Treat an empty value as a request for evidence, not as permission to fill it from a similar model.

From supplier file to record

1. Resolve identity first. Link the supplier SKU, manufacturer part number and packaging identifiers without merging distinct variants or pack sizes.
2. Extract with the source attached. Pull values from rows, tables and datasheets, keeping the raw text, unit and page or row reference.
3. Map to your classification. Assign the ETIM, ECLASS, UNSPSC or internal class your company licenses, and keep the supplier's original terms.
4. Review, sync and watch. Hold conflicts and safety-related values for a category expert, write approved values to ERP or PIM, and recheck when the supplier sends a new file.
