Pipe hanger and support product attributes

Pipe hangers are sold by figure number, and the figure hides most of what a buyer needs. A clevis for 2 in steel pipe and one for 2 in copper tube share a nominal size but not an outside diameter, so the size basis has to be recorded or the wrong part ships. Rod size, rod take-out and recommended load sit in a table in the catalog, one row per size, and are easy to lose during import.

Finish drives both price and suitability. Plain, electrogalvanized, hot-dip galvanized, stainless and coated versions of the same figure are separate SKUs with different temperature limits and environments. Copper systems usually need a coated or lined hanger to avoid contact between dissimilar metals, and insulated lines need a hanger sized over the insulation or paired with a shield.

Fire sprinkler work adds listings that rarely apply to a whole figure. UL and FM approvals are typically granted for a range of sizes and finishes, so a figure-level yes misleads. Storing the listing scope per SKU, with the MSS SP-58 type and the manufacturer's load and temperature data, gives estimators and inspectors something they can check.

Normalize supplier values

The same value arrives in many spellings. Map each raw string to one governed value, and keep the raw text beside it so a reviewer can see what the supplier actually wrote.
