Last updated: Jan 2026
Claro is a product of Happy Data GmbH.
Claro is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal data we handle.
This Privacy Policy explains how Happy Data GmbH collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data in connection with the Claro website and platform.
Claro helps companies match, classify, enrich, and validate their product and supplier data. This policy covers the personal data we handle in our own right - such as data from website visitors, business contacts, and platform users at our customer companies. It does not cover the product or supplier data our customers process using Claro, since that data is handled under a separate data processing agreement with each customer.
Information we collect
We collect and process:
Information you provide directly, such as your name, business email, company, and role, when you contact us, request a demo, or book a meeting
Information collected automatically when you visit our website, such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed
Business contact information we source from public professional profiles, company websites, and event lists, for the purpose of business outreach
Account and usage information for users of the Claro platform at our customer companies
We do not collect special categories of data, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
How we use this information
We use the information we collect to:
Respond to enquiries and provide our services
Operate, maintain, and improve the Claro platform
Contact relevant businesses and professionals about our services
Meet our legal, contractual, and accounting obligations
Security
We apply technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit and at rest, restricted access limited to authorised individuals, and hosting within the EU (AWS, Frankfurt). We use Azure OpenAI as our sole AI processing subprocessor. Customer data is never used to train shared or third-party AI models.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
Erasure: request deletion of your personal data, under certain conditions
Restriction: request that we limit how we use your data
Data portability: request that we transfer your data to you or to another provider
Object: object to processing based on our legitimate interest, including direct marketing, at any time
Withdraw consent: withdraw any consent you have given, at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the details below. If you believe we have not handled your data lawfully, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected, including to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Business contact and outreach data is generally kept for up to 24 months from the last interaction, and deleted immediately if you object.
International transfers
Our platform data is hosted within the EU and does not leave the EU. Some of the tools we use for sales and scheduling may be operated by providers located outside the EU. Where this is the case, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard to ensure your data remains protected.
