Where things stood
A 120,000-product catalog built for marketplace operations exposed serious gaps when the business pivoted to direct ecommerce: missing images, sparse descriptions, duplicate entries, inconsistent categorization and confusing vehicle-compatibility information, made worse by 40–50 brands supplying functionally identical parts at different quality and price points.
What changed
Claro combined catalog enrichment, duplicate detection, categorization and brand-aware competitor price monitoring into one workflow, delivering results through controlled CSV files rather than a direct ERP integration — a deliberate choice after a previous vendor's direct-access approach had failed.
What it looks like today
One data workflow addressing three interconnected problems at once: incomplete pages, duplication, and weak pricing visibility.
A CSV-first approach that let the catalog improve progressively, with review and import decisions staying in the customer's control.
Automotive catalogs are identity-heavy. Enrichment, deduplication, fitment, and pricing cannot be treated independently when the same functional part exists across many brands and vehicle applications.
