What the report checks

What makes a product page complete?

We check five areas that decide whether a buyer, Google or an AI assistant can confidently understand the product and act on it. Anything that doesn't apply to your product is left out of the score.

  1. Product identity25

Is it clear exactly which product this is?

Brand, SKU, part number, GTIN, pack and variants all identify the same product.

  2. Specifications & compatibility25

Can a buyer tell whether it’s right for them?

Specs with units and dimensions, plus what it fits or is compatible with.

  3. Search & AI readiness20

Can search engines and AI assistants understand the page?

The product markup behind the page, and whether it agrees with what the buyer sees.

  4. Documentation & evidence15

Can the information be trusted and checked?

Datasheets, manuals, SDS, product images and revision dates.

  5. Buying information15

Can the buyer take the next step?

Price or a quote path, availability or lead time, shipping, returns and enquiry options.

We fetch the page once as ClaroDemo/1.0, respect robots.txt and read only what the server sends: no login, no JavaScript rendering. The same page always gets the same report.

One page is usually only the beginning. If one page is missing specifications, identifiers or documents, the same gaps usually exist across hundreds or thousands of SKUs. Claro checks your whole catalog, finds the missing information in supplier and manufacturer sources, maps it to your schema and shows the source behind every value.

How does your page score?

  1. 80–100

    Strong product page

The essential product information is in place and consistent. Next, look at the category-specific attributes that make the product easier to compare and find.

  2. 50–79

    Important gaps

Some of the information buyers or downstream systems depend on is missing, unclear or inconsistent.

  3. Below 50

    Major gaps

The page contains too little structured product information to reliably identify, compare or understand the product.

FAQ

About the product page report

What does the product page report check?

It fetches one public product page and scores it on a 100-point rubric in five sections: identity (brand, part number, GTIN check digit, pack and variant scope), specifications (spec rows with units, fit and compatibility), structured data (Product markup and whether it agrees with the visible page), evidence (documents, images, revision dates) and transaction (price, availability, shipping or an inquiry route).

Why does my page say "Not measured"?

The report couldn't assess the page and says why: robots.txt blocks it, the server returned an error, the site was unreachable, the response wasn't HTML, the page is a JavaScript-only shell, or it isn't a single product page. That's a finding, not a score of zero.

Does it render JavaScript?

No. It reads the HTML your server returns, the way many crawlers and feed readers do. If your product data only appears after JavaScript runs, that's worth knowing: some machines won't see it either.

Is an AI model involved?

No. The rubric is deterministic, so the same page always gets the same report. Each finding shows the evidence behind it: the JSON-LD value or a short snippet of the visible text.

Does a valid GTIN mean the product is correctly identified?

A valid check digit shows the number is well-formed, not who owns it or that it belongs to this product. The report checks one public page; it can't see your ERP, PIM or supplier evidence.

How many reports can I run?

Three a day without an account, and 25 a day for 30 days after you confirm your email. Identical URLs are cached for an hour. To check a whole catalog, use Claro.
